Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mullen). Everything went their way against the Thomas Jefferson Spartans on Monday as they made off with a 14-6 win. The Mustangs not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since April 18, 2024.

Alexander Andrews looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Mullen got a massive performance out of Blake Young, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most hits Young has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Charlie Krza, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one triple.

Mullen was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .481. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.

Mullen has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Thomas Jefferson, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Mullen didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 8-5 win against Regis Jesuit on the 2nd. As for Thomas Jefferson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 6-0 loss against Evergreen on the 1st.
