Baseball Recap: Lockney Takes a Loss

If Lockney was riding high fresh off their 18-8 takedown of Petersburg last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Longhorns fell just short of the Ralls Jackrabbits by a score of 7-5 on Saturday. The defeat continues a trend for the Longhorns in their meetings with the Jackrabbits: they've now lost three in a row.

Lockney saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Daniel Alvarado, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run. Bo Alvis was another, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Lockney's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Ralls, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-8.

Looking ahead, Lockney will welcome Springlake-Earth at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Ralls, they will venture away from home to challenge Borden County at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
