Basketball Recap: Newark's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Two

Newark won the last time they faced DePue, and Dylan Long did his part to make sure it happened again. The Newark Norsemen claimed a resounding 76-33 win over the DePue Little Giants thanks in part to Long, who went 13 of 20 en route to 29 points along with seven boards and six assists. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game.

Jimmy Kath was another key player, putting up eight points and five assists. He continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.

The victory made it two in a row for Newark and bumps their season record up to 9-7. As for DePue, they dropped their record down to 2-15 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Newark didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 53-52 win against Aurora Christian on the 15th. As for DePue, they will be playing at home against Earlville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
