Baseball Recap: Pickens Comes Up Short

Friday just wasn't the day for Pickens's offense. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 10-0 to the Greer Yellow Jackets, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The loss continues a trend for the Blue Flame in their meetings with the Yellow Jackets: they've now lost three in a row.

Pickens saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maddex Freeman, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base.

Pickens' defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Greer, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pickens will challenge Walhalla at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. The Razorbacks will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last. As for Greer, they will take on Blue Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
