Softball Recap: Bozeman Find Success

Bozeman proved they can win big last Wednesday (they won by 15) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They won by a run and slipped past the Freeport Bulldogs 6-5. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 9-6 back in February.

Kinsey Bruhmuller was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. She also put up a triple, which was her first of the season. Presley Thomason was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.

Bozeman hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive games.

Bozeman is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Freeport, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-8.

Looking ahead, Bozeman will be playing in front of their home fans against Arnold at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Freeport, they will head out to challenge Walton at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
