Meanwhile, Newberry had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Trojans a 17-0 shutout. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Indians considering their two-run performance the game before.

Rudyard's defeat dropped their record down to 9-13. As for Newberry, their win bumped their record up to 7-4-1.
