Baseball Recap: Poly Comes Up Short

Poly fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Paloma Valley on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 7-6. The loss continues a trend for the Bears in their meetings with the Wildcats: they've now lost six in a row.

Gavin Malmberg made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-5 with one run, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that he has hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew Henry, who went 2-for-6 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Poly's defeat dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Paloma Valley, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-9.

Poly has already played their next match, an 8-1 win against JW North on the 3rd. As for Paloma Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 5-3 victory against Lakeside on the 2nd.
