Volleyball Recap: Western Sierra Collegiate Academy Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Western Sierra Collegiate Academy had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They came up short against the Westlake Charter Explorers, falling 3-0. The Wolves were not able to make up for their defeat to the Explorers from their previous meeting back in February of 2024.

While Western Sierra Collegiate Academy was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Westlake Charter's winning margin in every set. The final score came out to 25-9, 25-11, 25-16.

Cameron Svendsen paced Western Sierra Collegiate Academy's offense, picking up four kills. Svendsen got some help from Alexander Protsyuk and his six assists.

The victory made it two in a row for Westlake Charter and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Western Sierra Collegiate Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Twelve Bridges on the 27th. As for Westlake Charter, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Vacaville Christian on the 26th.
