Recap: Shore Regional Blue Devils vs. Holmdel Hornets

It was a good run, but the Shore Regional Blue Devils unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost to Holmdel on the road by a decisive 71-52 margin. Shore Regional was down 62-26 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

When it comes to explaining why Shore Regional lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kimi Sayson. Despite the final result, she scored 20 points along with three steals. Sayson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last 11 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Conley Smolokoff, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.

Shore Regional's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-7. As for Holmdel, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.

Shore Regional will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Central Regional at 3:00 p.m. Hopefully Shore Regional focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Tuesday. Holmdel does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
