Baseball Recap: Blind Brook Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Blind Brook, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They came out on top against the Pawling Tigers by a score of 8-4 on Saturday. This was a revenge game for the Trojans: when they faced off against the Tigers back in March, they had to take a 6-3 defeat.

Robberto Cuesta IV was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Elliott Zwicker, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Blind Brook is 3-1 when Zwicker posts two or more runs, but 2-8 otherwise. Chris Davis also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Blind Brook's victory bumped their record up to 5-9. As for Pawling, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.

Coming up, Blind Brook will be playing in front of their home fans against Mount Vernon at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Pawling, they will head out to square off against Haldane at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
