Softball Recap: Lanesville Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Lanesville and Borden squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Lanesville had to settle for second. They fell 8-3 to the Braves. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Braves this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 last Thursday.

Lanesville saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Makenna Mills, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Mills has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Brooklyn Albers was another, going 1-for-4 with three RBI.

This is the second loss in a row for Lanesville and nudges their season record down to 8-16. As for Borden, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Lanesville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Borden, they will face off against West Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Braves' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Senators have averaged an impressive 8.8 runs per game this season.
