Basketball Game Preview: Troup County Tigers vs. Fayette County Tigers

Troup County hasn't had much luck against Fayette County recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Troup County Tigers will square off against the Fayette County Tigers at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Troup County's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

On Saturday, Troup County ended up a good deal behind Sandy Creek and lost 83-68. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 134th, while the Patriots are ranked 25th).

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Fayette County challenged Trinity Christian on Saturday. Fayette County came out on top against Trinity Christian by a score of 57-49. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Troup County's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-3. As for Fayette County, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.

Troup County was dealt a bruising 124-76 defeat at the hands of Fayette County when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Can Troup County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
