On Wednesday Jade Curiel struck out six batters over 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. The performance marked the fewest hits Curiel has had since back in February. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was her fourth in a row with more than six strikeouts. This season, she has been strong no matter where she plays. On the mound, she has an ERA of 3.64 over 50 innings pitched. Meanwhile, at bat she has slashed 0.500/0.569/1.083 with 26 RBI and 7 home runs.

Curiel's effort led Don Lugo over Montclair and she'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
