Softball Game Preview: Goliad Tigers vs. Luling Eagles

The Goliad Tigers will face off against the Luling Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Goliad will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.

Goliad is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Karnes City 18-6 on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three games, Luling finally came back down to earth on Friday. They lost 8-1 to Poth. The defeat continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Pirates: they've now lost seven in a row.

Luling saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Stevie West, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Luling's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Goliad, their win bumped their record up to 9-2-1.

Everything went Goliad's way against Luling in their previous matchup on March 10th, as Goliad made off with a 9-3 victory. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
