Volleyball Recap: Northwestern Extends Winning Streak to Five

Northwestern came tearing into Tuesday's match with four straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Ashland Oredockers with a sharp 3-0 win. The Tigers not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since October 2nd (when they won 3-0).

The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-14, 25-20.

Northwestern was led to victory by Genna Kreuser and Emily Thompson. Kreuser had 17 digs, while Thompson had three digs and three aces. Those three aces gave Thompson a new career-high.

They weren't the only good servers: Northwestern was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in seven consecutive matchups.

Northwestern's victory bumped their record up to 20-8. As for Ashland, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season.
