Baseball Recap: Cedarville Comes Up Short

Cedarville lost against West Jefferson back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Indians fell just short of the Roughriders by a score of 3-2.

Cedarville saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Lide, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI. Cooper Hardy also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Cedarville's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for West Jefferson, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-1.

Coming up, Cedarville will be playing in front of their home fans against Greeneview at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Indians are on an eight-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), the Rams a four-game streak of away wins, meaning someone's leaving a streak behind. As for West Jefferson, they will head out to take on West Liberty-Salem at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
