The Lake Weir Hurricanes will head out to face off against the Lake Minneola Hawks at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Lake Weir will be strutting in after a win while Lake Minneola will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with 18 defeats in a row dating back to last season, Lake Weir turned things around against North Marion last Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Colts with a sharp 15-0 victory. The Hurricanes not only won last Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since February 27, 2024.

Beth Levy was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in April of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Kyra Rigozzi was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was G Weidenbacher, who scored three runs while going 4-for-4.
