The Riverstone International Otters' homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Garden Valley Wolverines at 7:30 p.m. on January 16th. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Riverstone International scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They blew past Greenleaf Friends Academy, posting a 74-22 victory at home. That looming 74-22 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Riverstone International yet this season.
Amer Sangha and Conrad Ness were among the main playmakers for Riverstone International as the former scored 15 points along with six steals and the latter scored 23 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Ness has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Koval, who scored 15 points along with two steals.
Garden Valley was handed a two-point loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Horseshoe Bend on Monday. Garden Valley blew past Horseshoe Bend 71-42 on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Garden Valley has posted against Horseshoe Bend since February 5, 2021.
Riverstone International pushed their record up to 8-3 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.6 points per game. As for Garden Valley, their win bumped their record up to 12-2.
Riverstone International was taken down by Garden Valley 71-40 in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Riverstone International was down 43-17.
