Basketball Recap: Cornerstone Prep Drops Highest Score of Season Against Jefferson County Christian

Cornerstone Prep hadn't done well against Jefferson County Christian recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Cornerstone Prep managed a 69-63 win over the Jefferson County Christian Royals. Cornerstone Prep's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Several Royals players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mark Jenkins, who went 10-for-17 on his way to 24 points and six steals. That's the most steals Jenkins has posted since back in January of 2024. Another player making a difference was Lee Gump, who went 6-for-13 to rack up 13 points and eight boards.

The victory made it two in a row for Cornerstone Prep and bumps their season record up to 3-1. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.0 points over those games. As for Jefferson County Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-8.
