Softball Recap: South Glens Falls Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

South Glens Falls proved they can win big last Tuesday (they won by six) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Scotia-Glenville Tartans, sneaking past 4-2. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Tartans: they've now won four in a row.

Isabelle Ames spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Gianna Marissal was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three runs. That home run marked the first that she launched this season.

South Glens Falls pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Scotia-Glenville, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 5-2 record.
