Basketball Recap: Harvey Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Armani Hall and Chase Goines

Harvey was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. The matchup between them and the West Geauga Wolverines didn't end well, with the Harvey Red Raiders falling 63-45. While losing is never fun, the Red Raiders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 529th, while the Wolverines are ranked 182nd).

Harvey's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Chase Goines, who went 6 for 15 on his way to 14 points and eight rebounds, and Armani Hall, who posted 14 points. Deontae Ware was another key player, putting up six points and five rebounds.

Even though they lost, Harvey was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Harvey's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for West Geauga, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Harvey wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 55-51 victory against Orange on the 21st. As for West Geauga, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-37 loss against Hawken on the 20th.
