Washington Academy and Monmouth Academy squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Washington Academy had to settle for second. They lost 9-1 to the Mustangs. The Raiders' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Washington Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mike Taylor, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double and one RBI. Daniel Gardner was another, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases.

Washington Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 17-3. As for Monmouth Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season.
