Basketball Recap: Central Drops Season-High Score on Dundee-Crown

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Central). They were the clear victor by a 54-29 margin over the Dundee-Crown Chargers on Tuesday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Rockets as it put an end to their five-game losing streak.

Central was led to victory by Audrey LaFleur and Julia Scheuer. LaFleur went 9 of 22 on her way to 21 points along with seven steals and five boards, while Scheuer went 8 for 9 on her way to 17 points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which LaFleur has scored at least a third of Central's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashley Waslo, who posted four points and five steals.

Central smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in January.

Central's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-5. As for Dundee-Crown, their loss was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-7.

Central will square off against McHenry at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Dundee-Crown, they will welcome Hampshire at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Dundee-Crown is facing Hampshire at the right time seeing as Hampshire is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
