Baseball Recap: Jefferson Academy Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses at Home

There's no place like home for Jefferson Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They blew past The Academy Wildcats 9-2 on Thursday. The Jaguars not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since May 13, 2024 (when they won 18-2).

Jefferson Academy's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Austen Bauer, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those three RBI gave Bauer a new career-high. Another was Jackson Martinez, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs.

Jefferson Academy's win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-16-1. As for The Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season.

Jefferson Academy will challenge Peak to Peak at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for The Academy, they will take on University at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Bulldogs will roll in looking for their ninth straight victory, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight.
