Softball Recap: North Boone Vikings vs. Carterville Lions
North Boone and Carterville squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but North Boone had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Carterville Lions by a score of 1-0. North Boone's defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.
For Carterville's part, Amayah Doyle was excellent, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with a double. The team also got some help courtesy of Karson Caudill, who went 3-for-3 with a double.
North Boone's loss dropped their record down to 29-5. As for Carterville, the win (which was their 38th in a row) raised their record to 38-1.
As of now, neither North Boone nor Carterville have any future games scheduled.
