Baseball Recap: Concord-Carlisle Takes a Loss

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Concord-Carlisle and Newton South meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Patriots lost 13-3 to the Lions. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lions apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Concord-Carlisle's defeat dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Newton South, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Concord-Carlisle wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 10-7 win against Chelmsford on the 21st. As for Newton South, they will welcome Archbishop Williams at 4:45 p.m. on Friday. The Bishops have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.56 runs per game on average), something the Lions will no doubt try to take advantage of.
