Philipsburg-Osceola's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past Bishop Guilfoyle 13-0. The win continues a trend for the Mountaineers in their matchups with the Marauders: they've now won four in a row.

Archer Baughman made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sam McDonald, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Connor Guenot was another key player, going 1-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Philipsburg-Osceola hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Bishop Guilfoyle struck out seven times.
Meanwhile, DuBois didn't have quite enough to beat Punxsutawney on Monday and fell 2-1. The Beavers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
DuBois saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Farrell, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.
DuBois' loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 7-1 and their overall record down to 12-7. As for Philipsburg-Osceola, their victory bumped their record up to 13-4.
Everything went Philipsburg-Osceola's way against DuBois in their previous matchup back in March of 2023, as Philipsburg-Osceola made off with a 21-7 win. Will the Mountaineers repeat their success, or do the Beavers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
