Softball Recap: Pinckneyville Comes Up Short

Pinckneyville fell victim to Effingham and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They lost 10-0 to the Hearts. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Panthers have suffered since April 9th.

Pinckneyville's loss dropped their record down to 17-4. As for Effingham, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 16-6.

Looking ahead, Pinckneyville will square off against Marshall at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Effingham, they will face off against Hutsonville/Palestine at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Hearts' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 9.6 runs per game this season.
