Softball Recap: Butler Wins Going Away Against Garinger

Butler won the last time they faced Garinger and things went their way on Friday too. Butler put the hurt on Garinger with a sharp 21-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won four matchups by 12 runs or more so far this season.

Parker Lamb was a standout: she scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024. Lauryn Williams also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.

Butler always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .733. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

The victory made it two in a row for Butler and bumps their season record up to 5-8. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 20.5 runs over those games. As for Garinger, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Butler will challenge Providence at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Providence will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something Butler surely won't give up without a fight. As for Garinger, they will square off against East Mecklenburg at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
