Softball Recap: Thursday's Win Is Fairfield's 11th in Last 12 Outings

Fairfield hadn't done well against Teague recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Eagles' pitcher stepped up to hand the Lions a 15-0 shutout. Considering the Eagles have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Haylee Allen made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Evelyn Fultz, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in February of 2024. Kaylie Ridge also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Fairfield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .520. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Fairfield is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Teague, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season.
