Softball Recap: Summit Charter Collegiate Academy Comes Up Short

Summit Charter Collegiate Academy had lost 12 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 3-16 to make it 13. They came up short against the Orange Cove Titans, falling 13-5. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Titans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 1-0 back in April.

As for Orange Cove, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-8 record this season. Considering they have won 12 games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

For Orange Cove's part, Daisy Regalado made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits (and only one walk). Regalado has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Kendra Talingo was a standout: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with four stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Danika Del Bosque was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

As of now, neither Summit Charter Collegiate Academy nor Orange Cove have any future games scheduled.
