Blue River Valley took a 12-run loss the last time they faced off against Wes-Del, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Vikings sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-2 victory over the Warriors on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Vikings have posted against the Warriors since April 13, 2019.

Blue River Valley saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was KYE GOLLIHER, who went 1-for-3 with one run. HUNTER KRAUS also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Blue River Valley's victory bumped their record up to 7-5. As for Wes-Del, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Blue River Valley will take on Liberty Christian at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Lions have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.75 runs per game on average), something the Vikings will no doubt try to take advantage of.
