Basketball Game Preview: Brookline Warriors vs. Wellesley Raiders

The Brookline Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Wellesley Raiders at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Brookline will be strutting in after a win while Wellesley will be coming in after a loss.

Brookline will bounce into Thursday's match after beating Needham, who they had gone 2-7 against in their nine prior meetings. Brookline strolled past Needham with points to spare on Tuesday, taking the game 65-50.

Meanwhile, Wellesley lost a heartbreaker to Newton North when they met back in December of 2023, and they left with a heavy heart again on Tuesday. Wellesley lost 60-38 to Newton North.

Brookline's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Wellesley, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

Brookline and Wellesley were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in February, but Brookline came up empty-handed after a 50-49 loss. Can Brookline avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
