Recap: Gretna Dragons vs. Westview
Even though Westview scored an imposing 56 points on Saturday, the Gretna Dragons still came out on top. Gretna walked away with a 65-56 victory over Westview. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Gretna also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Gretna's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kade Cook, who scored 17 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Cook is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Alex Wilcoxson, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.
Gretna pushed their record up to 10-4 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.8 points per game. As for Westview, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.
Gretna will be playing in front of their home fans against Papillion-LaVista South at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Nebraska (Papillion-LaVista South is ranked 36th, while Gretna is ranked 32nd). As for Westview, they will head out on the road to square off against Gretna East at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
