Basketball Recap: Faith Christian Academy Falls Despite Big Games from David Grubb and Haven Brannen

Faith Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They took a 52-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trinity Prep Lions. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against Faith Christian Academy this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 56-52 back in December of 2024.

Faith Christian Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Haven Brannen, who posted 18 points, and David Grubb, who put up 14 points. That was a full 46.2% of Faith Christian Academy's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Riley Anderson, who had seven points.

Leading Trinity Prep to victory were Beau Blocker and Gerald Layne. Blocker scored 18 points, while Layne went 8 of 15 en route to 16 points and five steals. The match was Blocker's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aboubacar Sylla, who posted six points and eight boards.

Faith Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Trinity Prep, their record is now 11-9.

Faith Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Peachtree Academy on the 30th. Trinity Prep has also already played their next game, a 79-47 loss against Lanier Christian Academy on the 30th.
