Basketball Recap: Cuba Falls to Eldon in First Game of Season

Cuba had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They were just a bucket shy of victory on Thursday and fell 51-50 to the Eldon Mustangs. The Wildcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Eldon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Corin Davis, who went 8 for 9 en route to 16 points and eight rebounds. Davis' evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Delaney Mcghay was another key player, going 7 of 15 on her way to 18 points and five assists.

The win made it two in a row for Eldon and bumps their season record up to 5-11.

Cuba does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Eldon, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Versailles at 4:30 p.m.
