The Turlock Bulldogs will square off against the Rocklin Thunder at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Turlock will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.
Turlock is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out McClatchy 8-6.
The team relied heavily on Joshua Ramirez, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brady Faria, who went 1-for-2 with two runs.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Wednesday Rocklin sidestepped Gregori for a 6-4 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Thunder.
Troy Ueltzen tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Mason Paranick was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That stolen base was his first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Cash Brennan, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Rocklin hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in five consecutive games.
Rocklin's win bumped their record up to 22-6. As for Turlock, their victory bumped their record up to 20-6-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Turlock has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Rocklin struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
