Basketball Recap: Rocky Mountain Prep SMART Falls to Arrupe Jesuit in First Game of Season

Rocky Mountain Prep SMART unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a blow against the Arrupe Jesuit Generals on Tuesday, falling 79-22. The Ocelotls were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-19.

Noah Standard was Rocky Mountain Prep SMART's leading scorer, having posted 11 points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Arrupe Jesuit to victory, but perhaps none more so than Mario Cabrera, who shot 53% from the field en route to 17 points in addition to six rebounds and five assists. Those 17 points gave Cabrera a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Louie Garcia, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten steals.

Rocky Mountain Prep SMART didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 52-38 defeat against Aurora West College Prep Academy on the 9th. As for Arrupe Jesuit, they have also already played their next game, a 56-44 win against Clear Creek on the 9th.
