Basketball Recap: St. Francis Indians vs. Quinter Bulldogs
St. Francis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They had to suffer through a 68-27 loss at the hands of the Quinter Bulldogs. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 271st, while the Bulldogs are ranked 26th).
Despite the loss, St. Francis still got an impressive performance from Eden Britton, who posted ten points and five boards.
Quinter got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Bryn Gillespie out in front who went 6-for-11 en route to 13 points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists. Gillespie has been hot recently, having also posted three or more steals the last four times she's played. Kamry Getz was another key player, going 5-for-7 to rack up 17 points and six boards.
St. Francis' defeat dropped their record down to 2-15. As for Quinter, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season.
St. Francis wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 61-26 victory against Triplains/Brewster on the 10th. As for Quinter, they have also already played their next matchup, a 57-42 win against Wheatland-Grinnell on the 11th.
