League recap: Brandon extends winning streak with victory over Forest Hill

Brandon extended the longest winning streak in 6A Region 3 this week by beating Forest Hill, 63-28. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.

Brandon led the league in scoring this week after putting up 63 points on the Patriots. Bryce Brown in the win.

Petal's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Larson Barkurn threw for 134 and two touchdowns and Jesse Jackson had 96 yards receiving. On the ground Barkurn chipped in 105 yards. Jamarcus Revies helped Petal's passing attack out by catching three balls for 30 yards.

The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Brad Peterson's team and the Panthers. The Bulldogs enters the contest ranked eighth in the state, while Petal ranks sixth.

There should be lots of points scored when Brandon and Marcus Boyles's team face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Bulldogs comes in having scored 256 this season, while the Panthers have scored 195. Brandon scored 63 points last week as it bested Forest Hill.
