Recap: Fort Mill Yellow Jackets vs. Blythewood Bengals
On Wednesday, the Fort Mill Yellow Jackets faced the Blythewood Bengals in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Fort Mill walked away with a 58-48 victory over Blythewood. The victory was familiar territory for Fort Mill who now have five in a row.
Leading Fort Mill to victory were Nas Berry and Kishawn Anderson. Berry scored 22 points, while Anderson scored 12 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Anderson has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Darryl Carrington, who scored eight points.
Several Bengals players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Taurus Lewis Jr, who scored ten points along with three steals. Lewis Jr has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Will Olden was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Fort Mill's win bumped their record up to 11-6. As for Blythewood, their loss dropped their record down to 12-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fort Mill will take on Rock Hill at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Rock Hill will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 127th, while Fort Mill is ranked 23rd). As for Blythewood, they will be playing at home against Nation Ford at 3:45 p.m. on Saturday. Nation Ford is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
