Adrian Watts commands the offense for Panthers win

Recap: Shields Panthers vs. McKenzie Tigers

The Shields Panthers can finally bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They came out on top against McKenzie by a score of 66-55. The victory was just what Shields needed coming off of a 71-46 defeat in their prior match.

Shields' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Adrian Watts, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Watts continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dante Leffall, who scored 13 points along with four steals.

Shields' win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-12. As for McKenzie, their defeat was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 4-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shields will challenge W.S. Neal at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for McKenzie, they will head out on the road to challenge Red Level at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Red Level's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven contests.
