League recap: Pingry extends undefeated streak to eight games

Pingry (9-1, 4-1) is red-hot, having won eight straight games, the longest such streak in Skyland - Raritan. In the past week, the Big Blue won another game, a 2-0 victory over Somerville.

Behind a 1-0 record over the past week, Delaware Valley made the biggest jump in the New Jersey state rankings, all the way from 177 to 136.

North Plainfield boasted the best pitching over the past week, holding opponents to the league's fewest hits and issuing the fewest walks. The Canucks have given up a mere 108 hits on the year, while striking out 84 opposing hitters. Christopher Nichols is the leader in that category with 45 Ks on the season.

The week's strikeout crown belonged to Chanel Garcia, who turned in seven Ks for North Plainfield. With nine strikeouts this year so far, he ranks sixth in the league.
