Volleyball Recap: Rangely Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Rangely lost against Caprock Academy last Friday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Panthers fell just short of the Eagles by a score of 3-2. While the Panthers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 25-18 in the first set.

Rangely took Caprock Academy into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking six-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-20, 25-19, 15-25, 15-9.

When it comes to explaining why Rangely lost, don't look at Kaelyn Geer. Despite the final result, she had 24 digs and two aces. Geer is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 12 or more in each of the last five games she's played. Aubrianna Tapia also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Katie Repshire had an outrageously good game for Caprock Academy as she had 19 digs and two aces. Those 19 digs gave Repshire a new career-high.

Rangely has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. As for Caprock Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.

Rangely didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 3-2 loss against Vail Mountain on the 13th. As for Caprock Academy, they will take on North Fork at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
