Basketball Game Preview: Bethel Wildcats vs. Staples Wreckers

The Bethel Wildcats and the Staples Wreckers will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Bethel will be strutting in after a victory while Staples will be coming in after a loss.

Last Friday, Bethel was able to grind out a solid win over Wolcott, taking the game 47-39.

Meanwhile, Staples unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of North Haven by a score of 63-60 on Friday.

Despite the defeat, Staples saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Chloe Smith dropped a double-double on 26 points and 13 rebounds. Ella Harrington was another key player, going 8 for 10 on her way to 16 points and three steals.
