The High Point Christian Academy Cougars will head out on the road to challenge the Virginia Academy Patriots at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as High Point Christian Academy comes in on six and Virginia Academy on three.
High Point Christian Academy can now show off ten landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They blew past Asheville School (Independent) 76-40 at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win High Point Christian Academy has posted since December 15, 2023.
Kylie Torrence continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 28 points and 20 rebounds. She hasn't dropped below 15points for 11 straight games. Courtney Taylor was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Meanwhile, Virginia Academy earned a 49-40 win over Winston-Salem Christian National on Saturday. The victory was all the more spectacular given Virginia Academy's disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 42nd in Virginia, while Winston-Salem Christian National is ranked fifth in North Carolina).
High Point Christian Academy pushed their record up to 16-1 with that win, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30.72 points. As for Virginia Academy, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
