Basketball Game Preview: Churchill Chargers vs. Dearborn Pioneers

Churchill hasn't had much luck against Dearborn recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Churchill Chargers will take on the Dearborn Pioneers at 7:00 p.m.

Last Tuesday, Churchill lost to Franklin at home by a 52-35 margin.

Meanwhile, Dearborn entered their tilt with Fordson on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They took their contest with ease, bagging a 69-25 win over the Tractors. Given the Pioneers' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while the Tractors are ranked 273rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Dearborn's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-3. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points over those games. As for Churchill, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-9.

Churchill was taken down by Dearborn 76-26 in their previous meeting back in January. Can Churchill avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
