Basketball Recap: Mt. Pleasant Comes Up Short

Mt. Pleasant was not able to break out of their rough patch on Sunday as the team picked up their 12th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 69-47 to the Geibel Catholic Gators. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 87-65 last Tuesday.

Geibel Catholic got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Evan Strimel out in front who went 10 of 19 en route to 26 points along with five assists and five steals. The matchup was Strimel's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Seth Dolan, who went 6 for 15 on his way to 17 points and six boards.

Mt. Pleasant's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Geibel Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.

Mt. Pleasant does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Geibel Catholic, they will take on St. Joseph at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Geibel Catholic is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 64.6 points per game this season.
