Volleyball Recap: New Britain Comes Up Short

New Britain was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Berlin Redcoats. The Golden Hurricanes were not able to make up for their defeat to the Redcoats from their previous meeting back in October of 2023.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-11, 25-20.

Saniyah Demus paced New Britain's offense, picking up six kills. Demus got some help from Avery Ostralt and her five assists. Olivia Escobales controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Berlin can attribute much of their success to Ava Gombotz, who had 14 digs.

New Britain's loss dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Berlin, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

New Britain didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Southington on the 20th. As for Berlin, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Middletown on the 20th.
