Volleyball Recap: Johns Creek Comes Up Short

Johns Creek was the 2-0 winner over North Gwinnett when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Gladiators fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 2-1 on Saturday.

Sara Buoni paced Johns Creek's offense, picking up nine kills. Buoni got some help from Adonia Haile and her 20 assists. Buoni was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Johns Creek has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for North Gwinnett, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season.

Johns Creek has already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Harrison on the 23rd. As for North Gwinnett, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mountain View at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
